The University of Michigan Cycling Team, a member of the Midwest Collegiate Cycling Conference, is composed of undergraduate and graduate students dedicated to becoming better cyclists. We offer local group rides, collegiate racing opportunities, and sponsorship benefits to members of all abilities.
Local Group Rides
Road and mountain group rides go out nearly every day during the fall and winter semesters. The rides, posted on our email list, are described by the route, distance, average speed, and any other important details such as hill or sprint workouts. Many rides are open to beginner riders. To join the local group rides, subscribe to the e-mail list on the right of this page.
Collegiate Racing Opportunities
Michigan Cycling participates in collegiate mountain racing in the fall and collegiate road racing in the spring. Any University of Michigan student, regardless of skill level or experience, can race for Michigan Cycling.
The mountain bike racing season usually begins the first week before classes and lasts until Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships during the final week of October. There are five to eight race weekends held in a variety of locations throughout the Midwest.
The road season starts in early March and and lasts until National Championships in the second week in May. There are usually about seven race weekends hosted at universities around the Midwest.
